Quick Navigation

Want to make money from your blog but don’t have a million hours to spend trying to get traffic? Do you wish you knew how to use Pinterest to grow your business? My friend McKinzie teaches people just like you how to build a strong foundation on Pinterest that will lead to a massive increase in traffic.

Not only that, once you have traffic coming in, she shows you how to improve your site and level-up your pinning to gain more subscribers and increase your income.

I ‘met’ McKinzie online when I had the great fortune of winning the “Successful Blog Giveaway” in December of last year. McKinzie’s course Pinterest to Profits was one of the amazing prizes I won in the giveaway.

After I started applying the strategies in McKinzie’s course, I saw a steady increase in my Pinterest engagement and traffic.

1. McKinzie, how long have you been blogging and what made you decide to start ‘Moms Make Cents”?

I started my first blog back in 2012 as a way to document my experiences and share them with family and friends. Fast-forward four years later and I launched my blog Moms Make Cents. This blog had a very different purpose than the first. Right before I had my first child in 2015 the company my husband worked for began struggling and his pay was cut by 30%. We had planned for me to be a stay at home mom, but suddenly our income significantly decreased and I needed to find a way to financially contribute. In the first year of my son’s life, I started three profitable businesses, which allowed me to stay at home with him. I know many other mothers that desperately want to stay at home with their children, but financially do not have the option. I created Moms Make Cents to teach these beautiful women how to create a business they love that will allow them to work from home. 2. How does Moms Make Cents help your readers?

My goal with my blog has always been to empower women to build their own businesses. When I became a mom I felt like there were no work at home jobs that would work for my schedule, but instead of submitting to defeat I created my own work at home job! To this day starting my businesses has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I want to show other women how they can achieve the same thing.

3. What made you decide to create the Pinterest to Profits course?

I have worked as a freelance social media manager and Pinterest strategist for small businesses for over two years. I finally reached a point in my business where I was so busy that I could no longer take on any new clients, but I wanted my strategies to be available to bloggers and business owners that really needed them! That is when I decided to create Pinterest to Profits.

4. Can you share your personal results from using Pinterest to grow your blog and business?

Pinterest has been absolutely crucial in growing my blog. By my fourth month I made over $2,100 in revenue and had over 20,000 page views and by seven months I had over 30,000 page views and made over $7,000 in revenue! Over 85% of my traffic is from Pinterest and is directly related to the amount of income on my site.

5. Did you take a class to “learn” Pinterest? And if not, how long did it take for you to figure it out on your own?

No, I did not take another class to learn Pinterest. I’ve had four years of trial and error using it as a consumer and a blogger, as well as two years of experience professionally managing Pinterest accounts for other bloggers and small businesses. Pinterest to Profits is a culmination of my years of experience and testing different strategies. If you want applicable strategies that will work now and step by step systems that start bringing you results quickly then this course is for you. Yes, you could spend hours scouring the internet reading outdated posts and contradictory articles or you could commit to an organized plan for success. As a mom and an entrepreneur, my time is my most valuable resource! I don’t have time to go on a wild goose chase to find answers. That is why I am such a course junkie! I wish that I’d had access to something like this when I started blogging four years ago! It would have saved me so much headache and would have accelerated my success much faster. 6. How does your blog traffic from Pinterest compare to traffic from other social media platforms?

Pinterest makes up the vast majority of my social media traffic. My overall traffic from social media is about 90% Pinterest, 9% Facebook and 1% Twitter.

7. Is there a ‘right way’ to pin to group boards and does Pinterest to Profits help with that?

Yes! It is important to have a strategy when pinning to group boards. You also have to be careful to not “spam” the board. Some pinners set up automated systems or simply don’t realize that they are overwhelming the board with their own content. This reflects poorly on the pinner and can eventually cause for them to be removed from the board.

8. Is it necessary to spend money on ads or promoted pins to see results using Pinterest?

No, Pinterest is the most underutilized way to direct free traffic to your site. However, if you do have a budget for marketing, Promoted Pins are a fabulous way to generate traffic and increase sales.

9. How long does it take to see results on Pinterest?

If you are a brand new pinner I would give it at least a month. Sometimes it can take a few weeks for a pin to really gain traction, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t immediately see drastic results. If you have strong Pinterest graphics and are implementing the strategies taught in Pinterest to Profits results become very aware in the first month. One of my students’ Pinterest impressions increased by 650% within three weeks of starting the course.

10. How much time should someone expect to spend on Pinterest in order to get results?

When you are first setting up your account getting your systems in place can take 3-5 hours. After that, you can expect to spend about one hour per week on Pinterest. In the course, I even show you strategies for pinning on autopilot in case you have an extra busy week and need to focus on other things. How to Use Pinterest To Increase Your Traffic, Subscribers, and Income

11. Who will benefit the most from Pinterest to Profits course? Is it better suited for a complete beginner or for someone who has some experience with Pinterest, for example?

Pinterest to Profits is suitable for the beginner to intermediate user. The early modules walkthrough creating an account, setting up rich pins, and refining your strategy while the second half of the course dives into how to leverage your traffic from Pinterest to increase your subscribers and income. The bonus modules are also ideal for the intermediate to advanced user. The Promoted Pins mini-course walks through using Pinterest’s ads platform to accelerate the growth of your blog or business. The second mini-course Pinterest Manager Prep takes my two years of experience as a Pinterest manager and guides the student how they can apply their knowledge of the course to start their own service based business as a Pinterest manager.

12. What can someone who takes Pinterest to Profits expect to learn?

Pinterest to Profits is a step-by-step guide to leveraging Pinterest to increase your traffic, subscribers, and income. I take you from a new Pinterest account all the way through setting up Rich Pins, optimizing your profile and boards, creating Pinterest graphics that drive traffic, how to find the best group boards and how to schedule your pins. Plus, included is a module all about creating passive on your blog. This module covers the basics of affiliate marketing, sales funnels and much more! Pinterest to Profits is an all-inclusive Pinterest course that teaches you to leverage the power of Pinterest to increase your traffic, subscribers, and income! In the course there are: • Eight jam-packed modules that will take you from new Pinterest account to a profitable blogger. • Over a dozen tech tutorials to walk you step-by-step through each process. • Worksheets & cheat sheets to elevate your learning. Plus, insane bonuses like: • Free stock photos, • 3,000 Pins from BoardBooster, • Canva Pinterest graphic templates, • My group boards spreadsheet with over 150 boards, • An exclusive members-only Facebook group, • Return on Pinvestment my brand new Promoted Pins mini course! • And Pinterest Manager Prep my guide to offering Pinterest Management services. Students in the course have seen fabulous results. One student’s Pinterest impressions were boosted by 1630% in the first month. Another student saw an increase of nearly 750% in her average daily viewers on Pinterest within two weeks of starting the course.

13. There are a ton of Pinterest courses available right now? How is ‘Pinterest to Profits’ different from other courses?

A lot of the different Pinterest courses out there have really great pieces but they lack bringing it all together. Pinterest to Profits teaches you not only how to create a Pinterest strategy to drive traffic to your blog, it also teaches you what to do with that traffic. If you master Pinterest, but you aren’t leveraging the traffic, then what was the point? In Pinterest to Profits, I share my strategies for using that traffic to increase your email list and your income. In the course there are in-depth modules on list building, how to make money blogging, creating a Pinterest + affiliate strategy and how to create a Pinterest sales funnel. This truly is a start to finish course on how to leverage Pinterest to skyrocket your traffic, subscribers, and income. 14. How long does it take to complete the course?

If you are a brand I would anticipate that the course would take about a month to implement. You can go through the lessons and materials more quickly, but for the content to sink in and be applied, I would expect a month to really dive in. Then in the following months, you can test your results and tweak your strategy. I’ve even had students go through the course 2-3 times and learn something new each time because there is so much content that they are continually able to find new gems.

15. What is the cost of the course?

Pinterest to Profits is $197 or two payments of $100. For all of the content in the course I could have charged double, but I wanted it to be accessible to as many as possible.

16. With so many things to invest in, why should someone take this course?

Pinterest is one of the best investments of time and money for your online blog or business. As business owners, it seems like we always need two things. More money and more time. Pinterest is the most efficient way to drive traffic to your site and with steps laid out in the course, you can leverage that traffic to increase your revenue.
